The baby is due in six weeks, and we don't have a name yet. Chauncey loves names like Emily, Emma, and Emmie. A couple of other names that have been on our list are Madison and Kenzington. So far, either friends or family have told me that they hate some or all of those names. When I find out how many people hate a certain name, I start to dislike it too. We have been through several name books, and nothing has really stood out. If we don't come up with something soon, this poor baby won't have a name.
Any favorite names or suggestions? Note that I am not a huge fan of too much alliteration: it can start with a "B," but not "Br." I don't want to have a little "Brooke Bratt" or anything like that. Nor am I a fan of months, seasons, or earth-child names like Echo. Thanks.

I love names like Clara, Elizabeth (lizzie), Olivia, Sophie, Lily.... There are so many awesome girl names. Boy names are soooo hard.
I like those names. For some reason though, naming our boys was so much easier!!
We had such a hard time too. My suggestion is to NOT tell people the names you like because it totally changes your opinion of it. Once the baby is named, nobody will say anything. :) I like all those names you said. Emma just replaced Emily as the #1 girl name in the United States.
Who cares what other people say. Use the name you like.
There's a super cute girl I know (she's only in first grade) named Naomi. I love the name because she is the sweetest girl I have EVER seen. So, maybe without knowing her the name doesn't really mean much. Good luck! I say, keep the name a secret until baby is born and you've decided. Then you won't have anyone telling you an opinion that will change how you feel! :-)
I feel really bad now for hating on the name Madison. I think my problem is that girl names that sound masculine just rub me the wrong way. Names ending in "son" just don't seem to fit a girl! And also I knew a Madison who went by "Mad," which I thought was totally sad.
I love all the names Barbie suggested. Feminine, but spunky. Nothing that sounds made up.

So I feel bad for hating the name Echo since one of the speakers in Conference talked today about a pioneer baby who was named Echo because she was born in Echo Canyon....I still don't like it though.
Ian and I will not share our names, especially with family because we don't think that their opinions shoudl have anything to do with what we name our child. Once your baby is named they will love the name because it is their little grandbaby/niece. Choose the names you like!!! :) I really like the names Phoebe, Kelsey, and Corynn.
Wow, Tiffany! Last time I checked your blog it had been months since you put anything on it and here you are blogging up a storm! I like biblical and scriptural names, myself. Traditional type names. But this is your baby, name her what you like!
